I'm sure you're all wondering why I have slacked off in my blogging responsibilities lately (I know I got in trouble from both Grandma and Nana on the weekend). Quite frankly, I have no excuse other than that I have been too busy enjoying my wonderful family! I really can't describe how much fun I'm having, so I won't try. Hopefully I can show you a little glimpse of our recent adventures and excitement here. I have included lots of pictures in this post, just because I feel bad for making you wait so long since the last one. Hopefully all the pictures mixed in don't hurt your eyes. We have quite a bit of catching up to do though, so hold on to your hats!

Let's start with Amelia's very first airplane ride, which took us to Fredericton, NB. Since mommy and daddy are generally good at learning from experience, we opted not to drive all the way to NB after the 10 hour trip to Montreal a while back. An hour and a half on a plane seemed like a much more appealing option. Amelia did wonderfully and the pressure changes didn't seem to bother her ears at all. She did think it was funny that she completely destroyed a diaper (and her sleeper) just as we throttled up for take-off... and remember, you aren't allowed to get up for quite a while after take-off. We were tempted to leave that sleeper on the plane! It was a great trip and we had lots of activity with Nana and Grumpy, who were nice enough to cart us around all over the province. Visits to the farm, Hopewell Rock, Cape Enrage, the largest covered bridge in the world, and lots of things in between.

This Sunday was family day for us! Daddy has to squeeze every ounce of family time he can into the weekends because of that pesky job during the week. We managed to fit in a couple of nice walks, a lunch and some good old fashion family togetherness. Our first walk was around Webster's Falls. It was very nice but a little busy (as it generally is there), and everyone wants to say hi to Amelia!

We had a little rest on the grass (which was incredibly interesting and fun to play with) while daddy wandered off to take some pictures. Once we were pooped from the walking here, we stopped for a quick lunch and then it was on to the next spot... Bronte Harbour in Oakville. We got a good look at some geese, grebes and ducks, saw lots of boats, and enjoyed the cooler air coming off the lake. It was a great way to finish off the weekend before the work week started back up again.

In other news, progress has started for the new house (or at least the roads that will lead to the new house). It's kind of fun seeing the construction starting on what will someday be our neighbourhood! There's a long way to go, but I'm sure it will fly by. We're pretty excited about it! Our appointments for design, structural, electrical, plumbing, etc... should be starting soon. Hopefully it will be more fun than stressful, but only time will tell.

Of course, as you can probably tell from the pictures, Amelia is growing more every day. She is learning and advancing so quickly it's astounding (and I'm not just saying that because she's my daughter). I'm fairly certain she will be smarter than me in another month or so. She has been pretty cranky at times lately because she is actually popping a few teeth (a couple are already through) but she's still the same happy girl most of the time. She is very good at exploring her world now, grabbing, chewing and kicking everything in range. We're actually thinking she might be left handed too, but I'm sure things could change as she gets control over her arms and hands a little better. One thing is for absolute certain... Erika and I are loving being parents!!
