Driving & Thriving

It's been a busy couple of weeks here in Amelia's world! Her first road trip, her first needles at the doctor, and lots of stuff in between. She is also doing incredibly well health-wise! She has almost doubled her birth weight in a couple of months and she's getting longer/taller by the day. Little Amelia is now 13 pounds and 15 ounces, and she's a little over 24 inches long. I have informed her that I would like her to eventually enter the WNBA to make millions of dollars and pay off mommy and daddy's new house.

Oh yeah! That reminds me... mommy and daddy bought a new house!! Here's a picture of what it will look like, although ours will be red brick and darker roof. Right now it's just a field and some dirt, but by November of next year it will be a brand new, fully detached home and we'll be ready to move in. It's in Waterdown, which is only 10 minutes west of where we live now. It's a beautiful area with lots of green space on the escarpment and some great friends will be only a few lots away from us. We're really excited, but it's going to be a long year and a half to wait for it.

In other news, a week or so ago we had to make a trip to Montreal. We couldn't have asked for anything more from our little Amelia and she did such an amazing job toughing it out, but it was a teeny bit exhausting! After a 10 hour drive there, a very busy and emotional time for a few days, and then another 10 hour drive back, we were flat out pooped!!! What was normally a 5 hour drive was doubled of course, because of feedings and changings. Amelia got to see her first Llama at the Big Apple zoo and she wasn't quite sure what to think of it, but it was entertaining if nothing else. We got to visit lots of family and friends in Montreal, all of whom were VERY excited to see our little girl. She has become somewhat of a celebrity in a few cities now.

Finally, we had our first doctor visit that involved needles this week. Mommy and daddy were very brave and Amelia did really well. Of course as you would expect, there was some screaming and crying and she's been a little fussy for a few days afterwards, but she did great!
